I first became interested in supporting women in their bid to have a baby following a Zita West led course at my training college in 2000. She made me realise that in order to accompany women on this journey I better get educated ! But my patients and my own personal experience have together been my best education - and I still remember the first woman I worked with in my first year of practice and little did I know that two years later we would be sharing the same NCT group - I was a new mum in my early 40’s ( I swore blind to my acupuncturist that there was no chance on earth I could be pregnant) , and she was a much younger expectant mum of twins. Since those days it has always been a privilege to help women achieve their dream of a little family. I know that when the road is not easy the dream becomes bigger, and the investment becomes even bigger than that. So whatever stage you are at, just know that acupuncture can help . When I first started, all the CRM doctors were most dismissive of acupuncture , but now the research evidence base is there, there is a very positive level of support in the ART sector.
